Jolanda de Roo - Chairman

[2nd yr Masters Student (Management profile) with a focus in Immunology and leadership]

My role in the JVT BW Master is, aside from leading the JVT, to identify new opportunities and manage activities within the study. I stand for a higher quality of education with the utmost  support for my fellow students to acheive success in the future. With the experience I have gained within different universities and organisations, my insights will be useful for the improvement of our study. Investment today, is result in the future.

Kit-Yi Yam - Secretary

[2nd year Masters Student (Research profile) with a focus on Neuroscience]

As the secretary of the JVT BW Master I manage the ins and outs of our meetings. Social networks in science have become an important aspect these days. Therefore I find contentment in aiding and organizing activities for our fellow master students. I also hope to raise awareness with regards to relying on the JVT, in that if a student encounters a problem, they should immediately turn to the JVT for solutions. .

International Liaison - Stephani Klingeman Plati:

[2nd year Masters student (Research profile), with a focus in Genetics]

My role in the JVT BW Master is to represent the international students and those who did previous studies elsewhere. I hope to relay helpful information that I have learned through my experiences here to those students who find themselves in the same situation. I strive to improve the acknowledgement of the importance of international collaboration and the inclusion of 'non-LUMC' and foreign students into this program and study environment.

Erik Blok - Education Committee Liaison

[2nd year Master student, (health-profile)]

In the Education committee (OLC BW), general policies are set regarding all aspects of our study. With the experience gained in multiple committees and work experience at the Directorate for Education and Training, I have multiple organizational qualities. Finally, I try to represent all Health students , support them with their specific needs, and aid in the resolution of their problems. My ambition is the implementation of biomedical knowledge in medical practice and vice versa; from bench to bedside.

Xiamyra Daal – PR Liaison

[1st year Master student (Communication Profile)]

Within the JVT, my role is to inform students about upcoming events and keep them up to date with  everything concerning the study. I don’t like it when information is nog clear or not easy to find. Therfore, I stand for transparency and clarity within an organisation. Communication is the key to everything.

Next to the studious side of me, I like to drink a beer with peers (and have nerdy talks about biomedical subjects).

Pauline de Goeje – Executive Committee Laiason

[1st year Master student (Research profile)]

My function in the JVT is to represent the Masters Students in the UO (Executive Organ). The UO is one of the educational committees of the LUMC, which ensures the quality of our study and aspires to improve it where possible. One of the main roles of the committee lies in the evaluation of all the courses of the study. Next to improvement within our study, I hope to provide our fellow students with activities to keep in contact with each other outside the lecture halls as well. This can be during an informative, study related event or in a more informal and relaxed setting (party!).
